HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY
The proverb Honesty is the best policy means that we have to be honest and true even in unfavorable situations. The biggest advantage of telling Truth is you don’t have to remember what you told last time. Another famous proverb by Benjamin Franklin…..Honesty is the backbone of the successful relationships. Those who tell lies to their near & dear ones face bad situations in life.
The truth will always come out so by lying we are only buying
time but it will probably be worse when it’s revealed that we lied. We will
feel better if we are honest and open in our relations personally as well as
professionally .If we are honest we don’t have to remember and maintain a web
of lies.
It is not only the proverb that implies honesty is the best option,
but people & legends also don’t differ while advising the same. William
Shakespeare said that the quality of honesty in a person is the greatest
legacy. Mahatma Gandhi told the Truth is Reality.
Honesty helps people to develop a strong character, uplift
their morals, do the right things, have faith in others and practice discipline
in life. Honesty promotes openness, empowers us and enables us to develop
consistency in how we present the facts.
Honesty sharpens our perception and allows us to observe
everything around us with clarity. It helps to live a tension free life and
ensures peace of mind and body. Honesty also helps to make good friends who
will stick around lifelong.
Honesty is the foundation for trust in a relationship, when
we are always honest with someone it tells them that they can trust us and
believes on our promises & commitments. Honesty brings positive attributes
such as integrity, truthfulness & straightforwardness.
When we are honest we build strength of character that will
allow us to be of great service to our organization and to society .We are
blessed with peace of mind and self respect and will be trusted by people
around us.
On personal front one most valuable lesson my late beloved
father given me to always be honest & tell truth. I really feel proud that
due to his blessing its comes in my character & many times it gives me
troubles in personal as well as professional life as people love manipulations.
But still in long term
I strongly believe in the above title that Honesty is the Best Policy whatever
will be the situation in life & I am proud of being Honest with myself, my
work ,my family ,my colleagues & others.
