DRAWING IS THE BASIC LANGUAGE OF AN ENGINEER                                                                                                                                             

Drawing is defined as representation of any object on a plane of paper, on a sheet, on a board, on a screen with the help of systematic lines. Whenever an idea comes in our mind we can express it in the form of drawing some free hand sketches and further finish that idea using instruments and dimensions to give that idea a final shape.

Drawing is one of the form of visual art in which artist uses simple instruments like graphite pencils, ink pens, paints, inked brushes, colored pencils, crayons, chalks, charcoals, pastels, markers etc. As a teacher in beginning we use Black Board /Green Board & Chalk. White Board & Markers.

Drawing has been a popular & fundamental means of public expression throughout human history. It is rightly said that drawing is one of the oldest language used for communication of human expression & one of the oldest representation of this art is demonstration by the production of Cave & Rock Painting. Even during Stone Age the information about the humans, animals, the tools & weapons used by our ancestors are depicted in those drawing.

In Engineering & Designing one of the most important subject is Drawing & now a days we also refer it as Graphics & its rightly said that Graphics is the first language of an Artist to express his/her ideas & first step to convert those ideas in to reality.

There are two ways of expressing our ideas through Drawing. The first one is through freehand drawing also known as sketching is a quick freehand drawing, usually not intended as a finished work. This is known as Artistic Drawing.

The second one is Engineering Drawing that is drawn with the help of Instruments & with dimensions. Few of the basic tools are those tools which we used in Geometry like Scale, Protector, Set Square, and Compass & Divider. Few Specialized one used in Engineering are Mini Drafter & T Square.

Digital drawing is the act of using a Computer to draw using different type of software according to use. Common method of digital drawing includes a stylus or a figure on a touch screen device. In Teaching we also use Smart Classes with inbuilt software for Graphics.

In Engineering we begin with Engineering Graphics that’s common to all the branches & further as per our stream we study Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Computer Graphics etc.

Engineering Graphics is one of the most interesting important subjects in Engineering not only for core branches but for all the students of Engineering to improve their visualization & understanding of the problems & their positions.

Language of Graphics is more powerful than any written language & it’s a Universal language used for all the commands in digital world.

It’s truly said that ENGINEERING GRAPHICS IS THE LANGUAGE OF AN ENGINEER
